Fender Custom Shop Precision Bass 1958 HREL Black

The development of the Precision Bass was largely completed in 1957. Leo Fender had replaced the single-coil pickup with a humbucker and a year later Fender switched from 1-Pc. Maple Necks to a Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard. A few more cosmetic changes were made throughout the year, such as replacing the gold-anodized pickguard with a tortoise -guard.
The reissue we ordered is based exactly on these early 1958 models. It already has the rosewood fingerboard, but still the gold-anodized guard, which looks great with the black heavy-relic finish. The quality of the aging was carried out in the outstanding quality that is currently typical for Fender and compensates for the long delivery times for CS instruments. Every detail is really great! The sound is in no way inferior to this look - no wonder with these ingredients: first-class alder for the 2-piece body, rift-sawn maple for the neck and an equally meticulous selection of wood for the rosewood fingerboard (AAA grade, sorted for dark). This is rounded off by a hand-wound P-Bass pickup. The result is a lively, powerful and dynamic bass - sound that you couldn't ask for better!
