Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster 1956 NOS Black

When you think of a black Strat with '50s specifications, you inevitably think of Clapton's legendary "Blackie." In 1970, Eric Clapton had to disassemble three original Strats to assemble a guitar from the individual parts, which would become his mate for the next 17 years on stage and in the studio . With this fantastic 1956 reissue, we offer an alternative to the Clapton method and are sure that the Stratocaster shown here would have been right up Eric's alley! The body, made of first class alder, was selected for us to achieve the ideal weight of approximately 3200 grams. The one-piece maple neck, made of extra-strong rift-sawn maple, features a gorgeous 10/56 "V" profile, a flat 12" radius, and 6105 narrow-tall frets. The whole thing comes in dark tinted, and while the rest of the instrument has a NOS finish, the back of the neck got a "worn" treatment by the Custom Shop because it simply feels great!
