Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster Late 61 HREL MB Ron Thorn REV 3 Tone-SB

Here we have a very special Fender Stratocaster by master builder Ron Thorn, which actually has nothing wrong with it. But don't be too hasty! Compared to the historical models, this is not an exact replica, but the individual components can certainly be found in various vintages or Strat variants. Ron creatively put them together according to our ideas and created an outstanding one-off.
The basis is a light two-piece alder body with the generous contours of a 1960 Stratocaster. Lacquered in a darker 3-tone sunburst from the early 1960s, the body alone is eye-opening. The body, with its not subtle Heavy Relic treatment, symbolizes tough touring and club life, just like a 60-year-old and well-played guitar.
A maple 5/4 quartersawn neck with reversed headstock is attached to this very resonant body. Obviously the inspiration of a left-handed neck on a "normal" guitar was the basis here. As usual, the lateral landmarks were positioned on the fretboard edge visible to the player. Dark clay dots, as usual after intensive years of playing, adorn the wonderfully dark rosewood fretboard and a tinted maple neck round off the appealing visual experience to the best. The thick slab board ends according to the historical model with a perfect curve on the headstock, which, like a late '61 Stratocaster, does not yet contain a patent number under the Stratocaster lettering.
The neck is made according to more modern aspects that support playing comfort, e.g. with the popular 12" radius, modern V-shaping with a neck thickness of 0.85" in the first fret and a pleasant 0.89" in the 12th fret and last but not least least with a contoured neck heel that guarantees easier access to the upper register. According to our specifications, the 6105 frets are relatively straight at the fret ends, so that the outer strings don't slip over the fretboard edges as quickly as they did.
A handwound Texas Special PU set with more output than traditional Stratocaster pickups provides the amplified tone. Here you quickly notice how a light guitar weighing 3,415 grams and soundly acting and balanced pickups produce a tone that just won't let go. All types of games are possible, all genres can be covered and even Hendrix-like works convincingly because of the optics.
