Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster Jimmie Vaughan

The name "Vaughan" is inextricably linked to the blues like no other. Jimmie and his younger brother Steve Ray Vaughan have been instrumental in the blues renaissance since the 1980s. Jimmie Vaughan began his career with the Fabulous Thunderbirds before teaming up with his brother Stevie Ray Vaughan to form the legendary Vaughan Brothers. After the tragic accidental death of his brother, Jimmie Vaughan withdrew from the music scene for a while until he released his first solo album in 1994, which was all about the blues.

In close cooperation with Jimmie Vaughan, the Fender Custom Shop created a remarkable "Custom Artist" edition, in which many of Jimmie Vaughan's personal specifications and features were implemented. The result was a Strat that impressively carries the genes of the blues and obviously has Vaughan's signature. The model for the Jimmie Vaughan CS Stratocaster was a 50s Strat model that comes in the fascinating "Wide-Fade 2-Tone" sunburst and with a single-layer eggshell pickguard. The alder body, coated wafer-thin with nitrocellulose, has the finest hairline cracks and is a prime example of a perfect "Closet Classic" aging from the Fender Custom Shop. The "1 Pc. Rift Sawn" maple neck was fitted with Jimmie Vaughan's preferred "Custom C" neck shape and a 9.5" fretboard radius. The "Hand-Wound JLV" single-coil pickups were meticulously built to Jimmy's specifications Vaughan wound to create the typical "Vaughan sound” as authentically as possible.
