#Gibson ES-335 1964 M2M Murphy Lab Heavy Aged Sixties Cherry #121517

Description

As B.B. King was recording his famous album Live At The Regal in 1964, he gushed about his recently acquired 335, saying "It was like somebody knew what kind of guitar I'd been wanting!"

Here is a series of 1964 ES-335 reissues, fresh from the Custom Shop and made exclusively for Guitar-Place, some of them in nice custom colors! Thom Fowle (head of the Nashville Custom Shop) guarantees us a first-class choice of wood - the center block is made of light, resonant maple and the bracing is made of top-quality Adirondack spruce. Together with the high-quality production by Gibson's best luthiers, instruments have been created whose sound is immediately reminiscent of Eric Clapton's legendary tone on his "Cream" albums. Analogous to the addictive sound quality, the aging is also at the highest level. For over 25 years, the Tom Murphy name has been synonymous with developing the finest aging techniques in Gibson guitars. His knowledge of vintage Gibsons led to an unparalleled technique in aging nitrocellulose paint and patina nickel hardware. And of course his "Murphy Lab" team is also responsible for the fascinating charisma that is expressed in every detail of our guitars. What they all have in common is the absolutely ingenious neck shape of the 1964 vintage. Not as full as a '58 and not as flat as the "slim tapers" of the early '60s. Rather, a pleasantly rounded C-neck that conveys an absolute feeling of well-being when playing.
