The goal was for the new 1964 ES-335 Reissue to sound like the very best originals of that era. The Gibson Custom Shop spared neither time nor effort to achieve this ambitious goal. Experienced luthiers meticulously studied and scanned vintage 335 models from 1964, analyzing their sound with painstaking precision. Every contour, profile, inlay, and color nuance of the original vintage models was captured and meticulously replicated in the newly developed instruments. And wow! The result is one of the finest 1964 ES-335 Reissues ever made!

Naturally, only select tonewoods were used in its construction. From high-quality maple for top and back to a one-piece mahogany neck with dark rosewood fretboard featuring historically accurate small block inlays. Combined with the Custombucker Alnico III pickups, exclusively installed in CS guitars and perfectly replicating the sound of the old PAF pu's, this guarantees top-class sound quality!
