Explorer, Flying V, Firebird, Nighthawk

At the end of the 1950s, Gibson tried to release new guitars with a futuristic design. The result was the "Modernistic" series, which consisted of three radical guitar designs: the "Explorer", the "Flying V" and the "Moderne", followed by the "Firebird" in 1963. But the time was not yet ripe for such daring designs. Only years later did these models become more popular and have been used mainly in Blues, Rock and Heavy Metal music.
