With the launch of the legendary Gibson ES-335 semi-hollow body guitar, an additional luxury version of this model was also brought onto the market: the Gibson ES-355. Equipped with such noble ingredients as golden hardware, a multi-layered body binding, a "Split Diamond" headstock inlay and decorative "Mother of Pearl" block inlays, it soon received the nickname "King of the ES Models". In addition, instead of the usual rosewood fingerboard, the ES-355 has been given an elegant ebony fingerboard, which gives the ES-355 a pleasantly soft tone. More luxury is not possible!
Everything only from the finest!
With great attention to detail, only selected tonewoods were used for the construction of this outstanding 1959 ES-355 Reissue in the Gibson Custom Shop. The body is made of three-ply maple / poplar / maple and is particularly feedback-resistant due to its construction. Particularly noteworthy is the "Quarter Sawn" Adirondack spruce wood used for the bracing of the ES-355. This ensures a balanced sound, good sustain and an excellent resonance. The noble wood ingredients are rounded off by a 1 Pc. Mahogany neck with a dark ebony fingerboard. Together with the installed Custombucker Alnico III pickups, which come very close to the sound of the legendary P.A.F. Humbuckers, this is a guarantee for top-class sound quality! Just made for Jazz, Blues and Rock.
