Gibson SG 1964 Standard Reissue with Maestro Murphy Lab Heavy Aged Faded Cherry #006862

Description

Excellent reissues of old Gibson icons that come damn close to the originals in terms of look, feel and sound – that is the unmistakable trademark of Tom Murphy and his experienced luthiers from the Gibson Custom Shop. With his in-depth knowledge of authentic instruments, his passion for meticulous work and his visionary creativity, Tom Murphy has developed the special tools and techniques to age Gibson reissues with an accuracy and attention to detail unlike anything seen before.

Here's another masterpiece from the Murphy Lab – an extraordinary 1964 Gibson SG Standard Reissue with Maestro Vibrato. With a lot of meticulousness, a new edition of this guitar legend was created in the Gibson Custom Shop, which carries the magical flair of the old original in an impressive way. In the exciting red finish, with venerably aged hardware and an amazingly authentic Murphy Heavy Lab Aging, the impression of a guitar is conveyed that was uncompromisingly "on the road". And rocked the hell out of it! And that's what it sounds like! The two unpotted Alnico III humbuckers, which are used exclusively on high-quality Custom Shop instruments, give the 1964 Gibson SG Standard Reissue that significant Rock sound that Tony Iommi, Robby Krieger, George Harrison, Dickey Betts, Gary Rossington, Eric Clapton and many more swore by. Iconic, uncompromisingly direct, assertive; in a word: the ultimate Rock guitar with lots of vintage flair. If you've always been looking for your own "one-and-only" SG, you've found it here.
