Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em …
... is the haunting motto of an album by the Psychobilly band "Revernd Horton Heat". Their frontman Jim Heath, better known as "The Reverend", conjures up that magical sound with his Gretsch G6120, which combines stylistic elements of Surf, Punk and Rockabilly in a remarkable way. Not for nothing has Jim Heath been called the "Godfather of Modern Rockabilly and Psychobilly" by a trade magazine.
An absolute classic as a basis
With the "Gretsch G6120RHH Reverend Horton Heat Signature Edition", Gretsch is now paying tribute to this Rockabilly icon. The Gretsch G6120RHH is basically an authentic re-issue of the legendary 6120 Chet Atkins guitar, which was given some special features by "Reverend" Jim Heath. Down to the smallest detail, the Gretsch G6120RHH was developed according to the specs of the old originals from the 50s – even the Aged Pearloid Blocks with their unique Western motifs are right here! That's where the cactus grows, there are cattle in the pasture and fences to keep the bad bulls from escaping. Wow! Where do you find so much attention to detail these days?
Psychobilly Twang
To get that typical "Reverend" sound, special TV Jones Filter'Tron Classic pickups were installed on the "Gretsch G6120RHH Reverend Horton Heat Signature Edition". These provide that exciting "Reverend" twang, which is characterized by its tremendous sparkle and a powerful attack, that is so typical for its psychobilly sound! This gem in the classic Gretsch color "Orange Stain" also has other features to offer, such as a special "Clear Plexi Pickguard" with the Gretsch logo or a stable Bigsby vibrato system.
