When Paul Reed Smith visited us in 2018 on the occasion of one of his remarkable workshops, he said, among other things, that 2 guitar models had had a significant influence on the construction of his own guitars: one was a 57 GoldTop, the other a 51 Nocaster. You think of this statement spontaneously as soon as you hold the wonderful PRS McCarty shown here in your hands. For one thing, the genes of a top-class Les Paul are immediately recognizable - the sound is fat and rich and the sustain is breathtaking. On the other hand, at the same time, an early Nocaster with its lively, very direct tone pushes itself into consciousness. The sound played bangs through the speakers with an incredible directness, nothing is sluggish or delayed.
