It wasn't until 1965 that the Rickenbacker 360 achieved its signature shape. Then-company president F.C. Hall raved in a press release, "The smooth roundness avoids all that is harsh and yields flowing lines for smooth, easy playing."
With its new design, bound "teardrop" soundholes, and distinctive fingerboard inlays, the 360 ​​model possessed features that characterize the look of Rickenbacker guitars to this day.
