#Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster 1962 Relic MB Ron Thorn Fiesta Red

A very nice Reissue of an early '62 Stratocaster by master builder Ron Thorn. The guitar is a real lightweight , only 3250 Gramm! The very dark rosewood fingerboard is a so-called "slapboard" as used by Fender until August 1962. The back of the neck was ordered by us in the "really worn & dirty" version and gives the pleasant impression of a long-played instrument. The neck shape ("Modern C") is not too thick and authentic. This is exactly how many necks were shaped in the early Sixties ! So far a Strat that can compete optically and sonically with the best originals from that time! The fretboard shows certain concessions to optimize playability. The radius is 12 '' and at least since Eric Johnson had his original 55 Strat modified in the Fender Custom Shop with exactly this fretboard curvature, we know about the advantages in playability. Another small but not insignificant part is contributed by the 6105 Narrow Jumbo Frets. The playability with this combination is just a dream!
The Pickups: Anyone who has heard the fantastic handwound Tomatillos PU's will not let go of them so fast! Of course, the basis is the sound of the early 1960s. But the Tomatillos add exactly the right amount of bite, strength and character, which distinguishes a top-class PU!
A Stratocaster that, when played dry, reveals its class and explodes on the amp! Great !
