Gibson ES-355 1959 Reissue Stop Bar Murphy Lab Light Aged Watermelon Red

As early as autumn 1958, Gibson presented the ES-355, the flagship of the ES series that had just been presented. Just like other top-of-the-range models (L5, Super 400, Les Paul Custom), Gibson equipped the 355 with some luxurious features (ebony fingerboard, gold hardware, pearl blocks) and demanded a handsome price of 495.-$
Like these early '58 models, the reissue shown here owns a large, multi-ply tortoiseshell pickguard. This was originally reserved for the Byrdland and was used without further ado to emphasize the special status of the 355. In many points you will find the unbelievable attention to detail that the Nashville Custom Shop has incorporated into this reissue! To complete the impression of holding a perfectly preserved 1958 model in hands, this beauty has been given a 'Light Aged' finish in 'Watermelon Red' by the Murphy Lab. And since this ES also sounds breathtakingly good, you can only come to the end that the combination Gibson / Custom Shop / Tom Murphy is really hard to beat !
