#2010 Gibson Custom Shop 1955 Refin Les Paul Standard Conversion 59'' Burst

Here comes something really special from the Gibson Custom Shop!
The Les Paul shown on this site was created in 2010 – a reissue of an original owned by an collector from Texas. The then head of the Nashville Custom Shop, Rick Gembar, was incredibly well connected and knew this collector (this guy should Gibson provide 5 years later also the original CC30 "Gabby"), as well as many collectors and players, personally. The trust of these individuals, who a few years later made their original treasures available to Gibson for a limited time, formed the basis for the now legendary "CollectorsChoice" series!

The Les Paul shown here was originally a 1955 Les Paul GoldTop, which had been rebuilt to '59 specs and subsequently refinished in Cherry Sunburst. The quality of the tonewoods used and the meticulous implementation of the historical specifications suggest that such reissues were used to test the feasibility of the CollectorsChoice series, which was launched shortly thereafter.

This Les Paul comes with its original case and papers. It is previously owned and in very good, original condition.
