#2016 Gibson ES-345 1964 VOS Frost Blue #60559

In 2016, Gibson built a small number of ES-345 1964 Reissue models in so-called "alternative finishes" at its Memphis factory. Meticulous attention was paid to historical details in the construction of these instruments, but while the majority of ES models were finished in "Sixties Cherry" and "Vintage Sunburst," some guitars were finished in colors such as "Classic White," "Frost Blue," or "Olive Drap." Production in Memphis was at its peak at the time, and a hand-picked group of motivated luthiers, led by mastermind Michael Voltz, dedicated themselves exclusively to building semi-acoustic guitars.

The "Frost Blue" model shown here is in excellent condition. It was meticulously crafted with absolute historical accuracy, and Gibson took a certain amount of pride in this fact. The specifications for the neck pickup alone included a whopping 18 points (the 18 specs for the bridge pickup were also listed separately...)
