Here is a very special Martin OM-42 from the Custom Shop! Our guitar maker and acoustic specialist Daniel has spec´d out this special piece with great attention to detail. Every little element was carefully chosen to create an all-round harmonious, top-class instrument!
To achieve a powerful, warm and overtone-rich sound, a combination of premium quality Sitka spruce and cocobolo was chosen. The top is also fitted with Golden Era Scalloped Bracing made from Adirondack spruce. The top bracings are made in 1/4" or 6.35mm thickness and are therefore quite thin. This gives the sound even more power and volume. Overall, the guitar is very balanced and has a very long sustain, which is accompanied by beautiful overtones. The treble strings also sound full and warm in the upper positions of the fingerboard. A very special sound experience!
In addition to the impressive sound, this Martin OM-42 Custom Shop has a wonderful look. Starting with the traditional sunburst, which radiates great warmth with the special grain and colour of the cocobolo. To create a beautiful contrast, european flamed maple was used for the bindings on the body, neck and head. A special highlight are the numerous abalone inlays. These can be found as "Alternate Torch" inlays in the headstock and fingerboard. The rosette and top edge were also decorated with the green-blue seashell. The wings of the bridge are also refined with "Island Scroll" inlays. Instead of the usual plastic pins, bone with paua dots was used. A small but nice detail is the angled bone saddle.
All the well thought-out details merge into a very special instrument, which can be found exclusively with us in this version!
