2023 Martin OM-18 Flamed Mahogany/Adirondack Custom Shop

Why are there no OM-18s on the market? We also asked ourselves this question and created this OM-18 Custom Shop! The popular 000-18 served as the basis. Mahogany is a wonderful tone wood with warm mids and a very balanced sound character. The premium class mahogany used here has a beautifully flamed grain. Adirondack spruce is used for the top, which gives the guitar a lot of power and allows individual tones to sound strong and assertive. Scalloped X-bracing made from Adirondack spruce also ensures powerful projection, great dynamics and plenty of headroom. This means that this instrument can develop its full sound potential even when played harder. The neck with the standard Modified Low Oval profile ensures excellent playability. Visually it is simple and elegant. The bindings are made of black Boltaron. The headstock, polished to a high gloss, is made of black ebony. Also fingerboard, bridge and pins. Old Style 18 abalone fretboard inlays provide an elegant touch. High-quality Waverly tuners ensure perfect tuning stability.

All around, this instrument is made from excellent woods and with the care of the Martin Custom Shop in Nazareth. The result is a sound that sounds familiarly traditional and at the same time powerfully modern. The focus is on very good string seperation, power and projection. The guitar sees itself as an all-rounder and can shine in a wide variety of music and playing styles.
