Martin OMC-28 Deep Body EIR/Sitka VTS "Premium Handselect Woods"

I had the privilege of personally selecting the woods for this beauty at the Martin Factory in Pennsylvania in April 2025! The idea for this exclusive Martin Custom Shop guitar came to me after a customer conversation about cutaway guitars and the possibility of coaxing a sound volume similar to a dreadnought guitar from a smaller body shape. This is precisely what inspired me to commission a Martin OM with a cutaway and deep body!

The 2025 Refresh model of the OM-28 serves as the foundation. In addition, it features hand-selected, premium-quality woods: a premium VTS Sitka spruce top for easy response and beautiful warmth, and premium East Indian rosewood for tonal depth and a lovely three-dimensionality. The deeper sides audibly increase the sound volume, resulting in an orchestral tone with long-lasting overtones and plenty of depth. Golden Era scalloped X-bracing made of Adirondack spruce provides additional power and projection.

Visually, this instrument has a simple and classic design. There are a few distinctive visual features. The headstock is made of ebony with a high-gloss finish. The premium VTS Sitka spruce top has only been finished with a clear lacquer and not with an aging toner. This allows the natural, dark color of the heat-treated top to shine through perfectly.

This is a truly unique instrument. As always, the specifications are meticulously thought out, and the concept of a full-sounding yet comfortable cutaway guitar is a complete success!
