For 30 years, Martin Guitars and guitar legend Eric Clapton have enjoyed a close partnership. To celebrate this anniversary, Martin is building a limited, hand-signed 000-42 Eric Clapton Signature Model. And we are proud to present one of these instruments to you!

Inspired by the Martin guitar Eric Clapton played at the iconic MTV Unplugged concert, this model perfectly captures both Clapton's famous sound and the essence of Martin's pre-war guitars! Based on the 000-42, this instrument has been given numerous special features. The choice of woods alone will make any connoisseur's heart beat faster! The top is made of the finest Adirondack spruce, while the back and sides are crafted from exquisite Guatemalan rosewood. The result is a powerful and complex tone with plenty of warmth and depth. The top bracing is also made of Adirondack spruce and is finished in the style of the "Golden Era scalloped X-bracing." This results in excellent responsiveness and projection.

The mahogany neck has a slim nut width of 43mm, and the neck profile is modeled after an authentic 1939 barrel neck. The ebony fingerboard is bound with antique white binding and intricately decorated with abalone inlays in Golden Era Style 42 Snowflake. The guitar's top edge is also classically styled with abalone inlays in Style 42.

All these special materials and elaborate details are impressive in themselves. The crowning touch is the label inside the body, personally signed by Eric Clapton!
