Martin D-28 Billy Strings

Billy Strings has long been known in the USA for his virtuoso bluegrass playing. The young flatpicker has now got his own signature model based on his prized D-28 from 1940! The characteristics of the pre-war vintage guitars have been combined with modern features that suit his playing style. The nut width is 43.6mm and the scale length is 63.5cm, which are slightly narrower and shorter than the regular standard model. This should help with fast playing and reduce the string tension a little despite the medium string thickness and still guarantee the fullest possible tone of the individual strings! Combined with the Modified Low Oval neck profile and satin finish, this neck plays itself. The guitar comes with all the improvements of the 2025 standard models. The fingerboard has been made a little thinner and the edges more rounded. The bridge pins are made of bone. The new GE-Scalloped Forward Shifted X-Bracing creates great stability and durability, as well as improved vibration of the top. In terms of wood, it has been kept very classic. A top made of selected spruce, back and sides made of East Indian rosewood. A herringbone inlay in the top supports the look. The top has also been given an antique toner, which creates a strong golden yellow color. Diamond & Squares Long Pattern inlays made of abalone serve as orientation in the fingerboard. Enclosed tuners are designed to withstand everyday stage use and protect against external influences. If you look through the sound hole, you can see the custom paper label, which has a cool custom graphic and the pre-printed signature from Billy Strings!
