Martin O''ahu HG-28

Not many people know that the "boom" of the Hawaiian music scene in the 1920s and 1930s in particular had a major influence on the development of the steel-string guitar and thus also on the success of Martin Guitars. Historically important instruments, such as the first dreadnought guitars, emerged from this. As a tribute to the Hawaiian music and guitar scene, Martin developed the O'ahu HG-28. To make the guitar more comfortable, the HG 14-Fret body shape was developed, a sloped-shoulder dreadnought shape with the body depth of a 000! In combination with a spruce top and Hawaiian koa for the back and sides, the result is a very balanced sound. The shorter scale length with the new Golden Era Modified Low Oval neck profile also increases playing comfort. Whether standard or open tunings, this instrument is versatile!

This guitar is also a real visual gem. The nitro high-gloss varnish gives the beautiful tonewoods a three-dimensional depth. The back of the neck is satin for smooth gliding. Antique white bindings and a classic bold herringbone top inlay adorn the edges of the body. The gold-colored O'ahu lettering is emblazoned on the head and harmonizes wonderfully with the golden yellow side dots. The guitar looks simple, classy, ​​traditional and timeless at the same time!
