Martin D-28 Rich Robinson

Description

Guitar-Place is proud to present the Rich Robinson Custom Signature Edition D-28. This model is the first guitar Martin has ever created as a visual and sonic representation of an artist's personal instrument. The inspirational instrument is a 1954 D-28 inherited from Rich Robinson's father, who played it on the Grand Ole Opry stage.

Robinson composed most of the Black Crowes songs on this instrument. Martin had the opportunity to meticulously examine the original and created this gorgeous and limited reissue. Back and sides are made of East Indian rosewood. The top made of first-class spruce received a finish of wafer-thin, special vintage varnish. Like the entire instrument, it was given an authentic aging that exactly matched the original. It has a "rearward-shifted non-scalloped" bracing, which ensures a very balanced sound and considerable volume. Typical vintage 1950's style construction features include Martin's signature dovetail neck joint, authentic hide glue construction, an ebony fretboard and bridge, and aged nickel tuners.

Each model has a specially designed label signed and numbered consecutively by Robinson.
