The Martin D-28 is probably one of the most iconic guitars in the acoustic scene. Every high-quality dreadnought is measured against its standard. Since the 1930s, it has been played by numerous musicians all over the world, first in bluegrass and later in numerous other genres such as country, blues, rock 'n roll and singer/songwriter! The large dreadnought body, combined with a spruce top and East Indian rosewood for the back and sides, sounds powerful and voluminous. At the same time, it has the necessary definition in the sound and a nice string separation. The bass sounds powerful and deep, the treble bell-like and clear. The perfect dreadnought and a real classic!
In addition, there are all the changes to the standard series for 2025. The new GE Scalloped X-Bracing promises even better resonance of the top while at the same time increasing stability. Some features of the "Golden Era" have also been adopted and give the instrument more vintage charm. The fretboard edges have been rounded more and the fretboard has been made thinner. On the back of the headstock there is a beautiful volute, the "diamond", which has been made a little longer. The shape of the bridge has also changed and the edges have been rounded. Another fine detail is the bridge pins made of bone.
