Taylor Gold Label 517e SB Cream

With the new Taylor Gold Label 517e, mastermind Andy Powers has created a stunning slope-shoulder dreadnought! Here's what we consider the most beautiful version, in sunburst with a cream pickguard. Taylor aptly named the Gold Label Collection "Born with an old Soul," and it couldn't be more fitting. While this instrument offers all the advantages of a modern guitar, its sound and appearance still retain a vintage character. The ingredients are a torrefied Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a Grand Pacific body with more depth. This combination delivers a deep and defined bass, fat midrange, and warm trebles. The torrefied spruce top, in particular, contributes to the warm, broken-in sound and excellent response.

This model also features the new "Fanned V-Class Bracing with Tonal Rout," which enhances the volume, sustain, and intonation. In addition, the new long-tenon Action Control Neck™ joint is also used here. An extended neck tongue under the fingerboard increases the contact area between the neck and body, thus improving sound transmission. Furthermore, the neck angle and thus the string action can be adjusted via a screw inside the body.

Apart from all the technical and sonic innovations, the new Taylor Gold Label 517e also looks fantastic! The version shown here, in particular, with a gold-brown sunburst finish and cream pickguard, is a feast for the eyes. The matching cream-colored details in the binding, rosette, fingerboard, and headstock inlays create a harmonious look with a vintage charm. The new headstock shape and the redesigned logo also contribute significantly to this. Other attractive details include the Honduran rosewood bridge and matching Indian rosewood bridge pins. The integrated LR Baggs VTC pickup makes it perfectly equipped for the stage. The pickup features a minimalist design and delivers a powerful and natural sound.
