1980 Martin D-19

Anyone looking for a special Martin Dreadnought and loves the sound of a D-18 should definitely check out this rare Martin D-19 from 1980! It has all the qualities of a good Martin D-18, but has been equipped with a few additional features. The dark, honey-brown stained top immediately catches the eye. It also features the Style 28 top purfling, rosette, and fingerboard inlays. The Martin D-19 is a D-18 with a special look!

Dreadnought guitars of this era were built with what's known as "non-scalloped X-bracing". This ensures a direct, clear, and balanced sound. Combined with the warm midrange provided by the mahogany, this creates a sound that's unusually well-balanced for a Dreadnought, making it perfect for recording and also a great live performance. The mahogany neck has an East Indian rosewood fingerboard. The nut width is a slim 42.8 mm (1 11/16"). In contrast, the neck profile can be described as a medium to thick C.

This fantastic 1980s Martin D-19 is completely original and in excellent condition. Except for some wear on and around the pickguard, it's in near-mint condition. The original hardshell case is also included. It has been checked, restrung, and perfectly set up by our luthier!
