2009 Paul Reed Smith SC245 Ted Mc Carty Limited Edition Smokeburst

This SC 245 is something truly special! Former Gibson President Ted McCarty was a friend and mentor to Paul Reed Smith—who even dedicated a signature model, the "McCarty," to him. In 2009, this collaboration resulted in two limited-edition guitars, including the SingleCut shown here. What made these instruments so special? The maple tops were personally selected by Paul Reed Smith and Ted McCarty and finished in a unique "Ted McCarty Smokeburst" color. This SingleCut was the only SC 245 ever built to feature the Santana-style headstock. It is equipped with two 57/08 pickups; featuring Alnico 2 magnets and historically accurate winding wire—produced on the very same machine that made the wire for the legendary Gibson PAF in 1957—they deliver incredible clarity and dynamic range.
Once the flagship model of the PRS lineup, this guitar impresses completely with a woody, sweet tone that captures a genuine vintage sound.
The instrument comes from a private collection and is in near-mint condition, showing only very slight signs of play on the back of the body.
