This impressive reissue of a 1961 Stratocaster from the Fender Custom Shop has the extremely rare finish "Desert Sunset". This deep blue color that fades seamlessly into black is just beautiful to look at. This cool finish is similar to the one used on the famous Bonnie Raitt Signature Strat. A subtle relic aging, which gives the guitar a mojo of an often played but carefully treated Strat, rounds off the overall impression in an amazing way. From a technical point of view, this 1961 Stratocaster is an absolute top guitar with everything that is good and expensive in the Fender Custom Shop: "Sorted for lightweight" alder body, deep black rosewood fingerboard, thin nitro finish and handmade Fat 60's pickups. These Fat 60s pickups meet the highest tonal demands due to their Alnico II bar magnets, bobbins made of vulcanized fiber and Formvar coated copper wire. As the name suggests, they produce a fat sound with a rich bass fundament, powerful mids and wonderfully crisp highs. That's exactly how a 60s Strat has to sound like! The moderate 60s oval "C" neck, the pleasantly flat 12" fingerboard radius and the 6105 medium jumbo frets also make a significant contribution. The playability in this combination is just a dream!
