Fender Custom Shop Telecaster 1968 Thinline JR w. Bigsby Aged Natural Mahogany

Telecasters with mahogany-bodies were frequently in Fender's program at the end of the 1960s. In this limited new edition, the body was made from a piece of excellent Michigan-mahogany (1-pc. bodies were rare at the originals; here you can usually find 2-piece bodies, but also sometimes 3- and even 4-piece bodies). The Tele twang is also present here. But due to the modified bridge, the flatter string guide through the Bigsby and of course the mahogany, this Tele has its own, slightly softer character. The body has the typical, rather subtle Journeyman Relic finish. The back of the neck, on the other hand, was processed more in a “Worn & Dirty” Relic style by the people in the Custom Shop.
