2013 Gibson ES-335 TD 1963 Reissue 50th Anniversary

To mark the 50th anniversary, Gibson released a new edition of the '63 ES-335 in 2013. These were made in the colors "Historic Burst" and "Sixties Cherry", delivered with a Custom Shop certificate and enjoy an excellent reputation due to their attention to detail and quality. At that time, the factory in Memphis only manufactured semi-acoustic instruments. Production manager Michael Voltz is considered an expert and was also responsible for the prototypes of the ES-Les Paul, which were made for Slash under his direction.
The model shown here was sold by us to its first and only previous owner and has now found its way back. The frets show only minimal signs of play and, after a light touch-up by our guitar maker Daniel, look like they did on the first day. There is a small dong near the potentiometers, also on the lower F-hole. Otherwise, this ES looks very clean. It sounds like you would expect from a really good 335: warm, full and sweet through the pickup on the neck, snappy and gripping in the bridge position. With a lot of sustain, which can be converted into controlled feedback at any time on the amp at a certain volume. A guitar that is simply fun to play in any situation! The low weight of just 3524 grams is also a result of the excellent tonewoods used in this model. The bracing is made of feather-light Adirondack spruce, which was also used in Gibson's ES models in the 50s.
