And indeed – Jimi would love this reissue of a 1966 Strat from the Fender Custom Shop right away. It has everything that a really good Rock Strat needs: Visible battle marks through excessive use on the stage, an uncompromising Rock sound and an authentic "look & feel" that is second to none. Instruments from the Fender Custom Shop are so much more than just the sum of their individual components. These are carefully thought-out compositions that aim to get as close as possible to the mojo and the sound of their legendary originals and – if it makes sense – to upgrade them with modern features. In order to achieve this, the instruments are handcrafted in the Custom Shop, using the same techniques and tools as in the production of the old originals.

The wood ingredients of this "Custom Shop Stratocaster 1966 Heavy Relic" are only the finest: Lightweight alder body, "light tint" maple neck in 65 Strat "C" format and a rosewood fingerboard with 6105 narrow jumbo frets. At the end of the fingerboard, the frets have been specially straightened to ensure optimal access to the highest positions of the fingerboard. The playability in this combination is just a dream! Finally, the "real worn & dirty" neck back contributes to the overall picture, as it creates direct contact between the grip hand and the wood, which ensures an extremely pleasant feel right from the first contact. And indeed – this Strat rocks in the style of the 60s! In switch position 1-4 it produces wonderfully pearly Strat sounds with lots of dynamic and in the bridge position it rocks like a hurricane! The two '66 handwound Strat pickups in the neck/middle position and the Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates bridge pickup make it possible! "Best of both worlds" so to say.
