#Gibson SG Custom 1967 Jimi Hendrix Aged Polaris White #67037
Description
Jimi Hendrix – once completely different! In September 1969, Jimi Hendrix suddenly appeared on the "Dick Cavett's TV Show" with a completely different guitar than usual – a snow-white 1967 Gibson SG Custom! "Izabella", "Machine Gun" and "Hear My Train A Comin '" were now heard on the show with a much richer sound than usual. A week earlier, Hendrix had already used the Gibson SG Custom live in Stockholm – experts claim that the version of his classic "Red House" performed there on stage is said to have been the best of all time.
Responsible for the amazingly authentic "Aged Polaris White Finish" of Hendrix' SG Custom 1967 reissue is none other than Custom Shop "Artisan" Tom Murphy, who recently became head of the "Murphy Lab" – a subdivision of the Gibson Custom Shop. This guarantees an artificial aging of the instrument at the very highest level. Like everything about this authentic replica of the Hendrix SG Custom 1967 is only the finest! Artificially aged golden hardware, three '68 custom humbuckers developed especially for this model for classic PAF sounds as well as an ABR-1 bridge and a Maestro vibrato system. A dream of a guitar! Hendrix would love it!
In the development of this noble SG Custom in 1967 nothing was left to chance; every detail of the original was meticulously measured and analyzed in the Custom Shop. Since the specifications of the original were exactly adhered to in the manufacture of the SG Custom in 1967, it was possible to ensure enormous attention to detail. Only the very best materials were used to create an extraordinary instrument that comes very close to the Hendrix' original. The material used for the body and neck is high-quality mahogany, which produces a round and rich sound with plenty of sustain. For the fingerboard with 22 frets, 12 "radius and 60s SlimTaper profile, noble ebony was used, decorated with the custom-typical "Pearl Block" fingerboard inlays. This mixture gives the SG Custom 1967 an extremely easy playability, that's why the SG Customs not for nothing were nicknamed "The Fretless Wonder".
Last but not least, there is a cool guitar case with the label "J. H. EXP. - Handle with care" as well as other interesting case candies: COA, Historic Reissue Hangtags, "Authentic Hendrix" Truss Rod Cover, 5 Hendrix™ Picks and a Limited Edition 5x7"archive picture by Jimi Hendrix (Courtesy of Kramer Archives; signed by engineer/producer Eddie Kramer).
