#Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster 1964 Heavy Relic Grafitti Yellow

Here a 1964 team-built Heavy Relic Stratocaster in Graffiti Yellow. The aging with the very fine and even crackling is perfect done! Back of the neck and headstock should show strong playwear. We asked the guys at the Custom Shop for leaving the ends of the frets quite straight, not so much rounded.  It feels just as good as strongly rounded frets, but it simply leaves the e-string that crucial corner more space when tremolating / bending. The "Round Lam" fingerboard, which is made of beautiful, very dark ("sorted for ") rosewood is typical of the 64 model year. The clay dots look also great. After a previous supplier was no longer able to deliver the right material, Fender has apparently been able to find an adequate replacement.

The sound of the Custom Shop models from the last few years was consistently convincing. And this Strat is no exception at all! The keynote is voluminous with the right amount of brillance. The Texas Special Custom Shop PU's transmit this tone powerfully and very dynamically.

Hier eine 64er Teambuilt Heavy Relic in Graffiti Yellow. Das Aging mit dem sehr feinen und gleichmäßigen Crackling ist absolut gelungen! Halsrückseite und Headstock sollten starke Spielspuren aufweisen. Die Bundenden haben wir uns ziemlich gerade abrichten lassen. Das fühlt sich genau so gut an wie stark verrundete Bünde, lässt der e-Saite aber einfach die entscheidende Ecke mehr Platz beim Tremolieren/Benden. Typisch für das 64er Baujahr ist das "Round Lam" Griffbrett, das aus wunderschönem, sehr dunklen ("sorted for dark") Palisander besteht. Toll auch die Clay Dots. Nachdem ein früherer Zulieferer das richtige Material nicht mehr liefern konnte, hat man bei Fender offenbar adäquaten Ersatz auftreiben können.
Klanglich konnten die Custom Shop Modelle der letzten Jahrgänge durchweg überzeugen. Und auch diese Strat macht hier keine Ausnahme! Der Grundton ist voluminös mit dem richtigen Anteil an spritzigen Höhen. Die Texas Special Custom Shop PU's übertragen diesen Ton kraftvoll und sehr dynamisch.
