Wow! This amazing Esquire from the Fender Custom Shop will delight your heart! Rarely have you seen an Esquire reissue that has such an authentically rocked-out relicing. You would love to take it in your hands and rock it off immediately – and then never again give it out of your hands. This unique masterpiece from the hands of the Masterbuilder Ron Thorn will hardly be available a second time! This early 1951 Esquire Reissue is not just a guitar, it carries the Rock'n Roll spirit and is at the same time a passionate reminiscence of the early years of the Fender Company.
Mastermind Ron Thorn put a lot of love and enthusiasm to create this unique guitar. Everything is really right down to the very last detail! Even the slotted screws that were used in the early days can be found here. Ron Thorn has modeled this Custom Shop Esquire in all facets after a '51 original and added a neck pickup as a useful addition. Both pickups are of the very best – hand-wound '50/'51 Blackguard® PUs. These produce a brilliant and clear tone that is second to none. Pearly, crunchy and crisp on the bridge and creamy, silky and warm on the neck. Just a fantastically authentic Vintage tone with that magical Twang that you know from the early Esquires. From driving country licks to soulful blues variations to powerful rock riffs, everything is possible! Once played, you'll like it!
By strictly focusing on the materials used and the production methods of the past, Thorn created a unique instrument that comes close to the best originals of that time in terms of quality. An ultra-light and resonant ash body and a maple neck in modern V-style with a 12" fingerboard radius make this Esquire to achieve a super attack and vibration behavior at the highest level. Because the "worn and dirty" neck has direct contact between the grip hand and the wood, this ensures an extremely pleasant playing feeling right from the first contact.
The Masterbuilder guitars are exclusive, one-of-a-kind pieces and are therefore sought-after. There is always a bit of individuality in the Masterbuilder who built this guitar. And that's how this 1951 reissue Esquire feels – not an anonymous off-the-shelf instrument, but a piece of handcraft with a special character. Well done, Ron!
