Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster 1967 Heavy Relic Aged Seafoam Green
Description
1967 was a pivotal year for Fender. After Leo Fender had sold the company to CBS two years earlier for the then enormous sum of US $ 13 million, things changed. The managers at CBS put their focus more on the Jaguar and Jazzmaster models and in fact thought of removing the Stratocaster completely out of the range. For this reason, 1967 is also the year in which the fewest Strats were produced. From today's point of view, it would be unimaginable if the end of the legendary Stratocaster in 1967 had become reality. But then came the "Summer of Love" and the legendary Monterrey Pop Festival and changed everything. Jimi Hendrix appeared like a star from heaven and thrilled his audience with his legendary performance on a Fender Stratocaster. This changed the fate of the Strat forever and made it the icon it has remained to this day. This Fender Custom Shop 1967 Stratocaster Heavy Relic in classic "Vintage White" with all its glory, with all the scratches, dents and dings evokes in all its splendor of the memorable annual model from the "Summer of Love".
And this Custom Shop 1967 Stratocaster from the "Time Machine" series has everything that makes a really good Strat: Visible marks through excessive use on the stage, an uncompromising Rock sound and an authentic "look & feel" that is second to none. The wood ingredients of this "Custom Shop Stratocaster 1967 Heavy Relic" are only the finest: lightweight alder body, "Medium Tint" maple neck in 66 Strat "C" format and a rosewood fingerboard with 6105 narrow jumbo frets. The playability in this combination is just a dream! The "worn & dirty" back of the neck, which matches the overall picture, also contributes to this, as it creates direct contact between the grip hand and the wood, which ensures an extremely pleasant feel at the first contact. And then ... the sound! This Strat rocks in the style of the 60s and can compete with the best of the originals! In switch position 1-4 it produces wonderful pearly Strat sounds with a lot of dynamic and in the neck position it rocks like a hurricane! The two hand-wound Poblano pickups in the neck/middle position and the Texas Special bridge pickup make it possible!
