Indeed, the Master Builders from the Fender Custom Shop always come up with something new and very interesting! This extremely impressive reissue of a 1961 Stratocaster from the Fender Custom Shop has the beautiful finish "Daphne Blue" with a very subtle Journeyman Relic Aging. At the beginning of the 1960s, Fender added a palette of DuPont colors to its range, which as "Custom Color", cost five percent extra. The origin of these custom colors comes from the automotive industry, and so the baby blue Cadillac road cruisers from the late 1950s were the template for the Fender custom color "Daphne Blue". This finish is especially interesting for fans of the early sixties Strats; it was only listed in the Fender catalog between 1960 and 1965.

The ingredients for this top-of-the-line guitar were selected in the Fender Custom Shop according to the motto: "Only the best!" And so it was realized here: Sorted for lightweight alder body, moderate 60s oval "C" neck with a flat 12 "fingerboard radius and a rosewood fingerboard in AAA quality with 6105 narrow jumbo frets. The handcrafted Fat 60s Pickups meet the highest tonal requirements due to their Alnico II bar magnets, bobbins made of vulcanized fiber and Formvar coated copper wire. As the name suggests, they produce a fat sound with a rich bass foundation, powerful mids and wonderfully crisp highs. That's exactly how a early 60s Strat has to sound! Conveniently, the Fender Custom Shop installed a modern 5-way circuit that ensures a fine harmonious sound in intermediate positions 2 and 4. An additional built-in treble-bleed circuit prevents a loss of treble when turning back the volume control.
