After that, they wanted to go one step further and launch a more affordable model. The Martin OMJM was born.
Based on the OM-28, John Mayer and Martin Guitars developed this signature model. Instead of the Sitka spruce top, Engelmann spruce was chosen. This sounds softer and warmer, which fits in well with the gentle melodies of John's songwriting. The neck width is a slim 42.8mm or 1 11/16". In combination with the low oval neck profile, the result is a neck that makes the acoustic guitar easy to play, even for electric guitarists. The abalone sound hole rosette and custom fretboard inlays ensure a noble look including signature on the 20th fret. The minimalist Fishman Gold Plus Natural I pickup system transmits the acoustic sound very naturally.
