The result is a clear, balanced sound with lots of volume, rich bass and assertive trebles. The projection can be described as excellent. Even unamplified, she can enchant the audience with her sound. The Martin J-40 feels really comfortable when playing chords. But fingerpicking can also be done with ease. A modified low oval neck profile ensures excellent playability. Visual highlights include an abalone rosette, reduced hexagon abalone fingerboard inlays and the C.F.Martin block inlay on the headstock, which is also made from abalone! A high-quality case is a given in this price segment.
