Here is a very special Taylor from the Custom Shop in San Diego, CA! This Grand Auditorium comes in a special design and is absolutely unique! The entire instrument is stained in Gaslamp Black, so that the special wood grain of the quilted maple stands out even more. Details such as the binding, armrest, truss rod cover, heel cap and rosette are not stained in order to achieve a classy black and white look. To give the bright sound of the maple more warmth, we decided to use torrefied Sitka spruce as a counterpart. Thus the instrument sounds wonderfully transparent, clear and balanced, without missing the necessary warmth.
