2015 Gibson Les Paul 1959 Standard Historic Select #50066

With the CollectorsChoice series, Gibson started the challenge to produce ever more accurate reissues of the coveted vintage guitars. This reached a peak in 2015 with the introduction of the "Standard Historic" and "True Historic" models. The brochures (yes, there were still such things back then!) proudly pointed out the numerous changes in detail that were supposed to make these Les Pauls the perfect vintage clones: more accurate plastic parts, thinner paint, softer transitions on the edges, etc.

In addition to these two series, "Standard Historic" and "True Historic", there were also very small numbers of "Historic Select" instruments. Just as meticulously manufactured, but with a little more freedom for Gibson's luthiers. Like the model shown here, where the '59 reissue was combined with a slightly fatter '58 neck profile. This Les Paul has some signs of wear, but is in original and technically perfect condition.
