Martin Guitars has enjoyed a long-standing collaboration with inlay artist and luthier Harvey Leach. Over the decades, Leach has built an outstanding reputation in this specialized field, showcasing his talent on numerous projects with Martin—including this truly exceptional guitar.

The Martin D-45 Harvey Leach Lotus Flower combines the legendary manufacturer's flagship model with premium tonewoods and a distinctive inlay theme. Intricate inlays crafted from a variety of select materials adorn the headstock, fretboard, pickguard, bridge, and even the back of the guitar. As the name suggests, the Japanese-inspired motif features lotus blossoms, lily pads, koi carp, dragonflies, and a heron. The soundboard is crafted from Bearclaw Sitka spruce with exceptionally intense figuring, while the back and sides are made from Madagascar rosewood—a highly sought-after tonewood that has become increasingly rare.

While its strictly limited production run of just 25 instruments worldwide makes this guitar a prime choice for collectors, it is also a stellar performer in terms of sound. Players can expect a powerful, voluminous tone characterized by clear highs and deep lows, with beautiful low-mids contributing to a rich, three-dimensional quality.
