2006 Martin HD-40 Custom - Tom Petty Specs

Here´s something very special! In 2004, Martin presented the Tom Petty Signature Model, limited to just 274 instruments. The instrument shown here was made in the Custom Shop in 2006 and corresponds exactly to the specifications of the Tom Petty Signature! The basis is an HD-40 made of spruce and rosewood. Instead of a Martin logo, the headstock is adorned with an elaborate torch inlay made of abalone. There is also a special inlay made of the same material on the fretboard. A herringbone inlay adorns the edge of the top.
The guitar sounds powerful and warm even with a soft touch. Its full bass is accompanied by clear highs. A wonderful sound! You can feel that this instrument has been played for a number of years, even if you can hardly see it due to its fantastic condition.
